We are currently in the midst of changing ministers overseas, so this is quite pertinent. I will be having a conversation with the new ministry leader this week. He is a local taking over for a missionary we had sent out! Please join us in lifting up all who do the Lord’s work abroad and who take over in there home!
Daniel
This Sunday at Church I want to encourage you to do the following: Pray for the overseas ministries your church support. I love seeing how different churches support the work of advancing the Gospel overseas. We must never forget the church has the Great Commission to go to the nations and preach the Gospel. So […]
Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.
James 5:16, ESV
We confess our sins knowing our God has said He will forgive us, and we show our love Him when we hear each other’s confessions and pray for each other.
For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.
Romans 10:10, ESV
Loving God is believing His Word – both Scripture and the Person of Jesus Christ. Our only means of salvation is to believe in Christ’s atonement and confess it to others that they may believe!
A coffee colleague has offered to let me take over his shop. It is a great little place I side the local public library.
Everything is made in house (except a few things), including bread, pastries, and good products, and it comes with a coffee roaster, as well.
I have always wanted to learn to roast, so this is great.
More importantly, I see this as a huge step toward my ultimate dream: a youth/community center.
Being in the library brings all these benefits:
A foot in the door with the city
Many schools are within a mile, and the high school students already come every day after school, so I can get to know them, as well
There is low-overhead
I will have to leave teaching at the university, but I can be home more and not constantly rushing. I have not had an actual full-time job in over 5 years, so it should be consistent income, too.
Plus, it does not interfere with my church duties. I will actually have more time to out into Youth and other ministries.
In other words, I will miss the ministry on a college campus, but I will be able to spend more time in local ministry while taking that giant step toward a Christian Youth Center.
So, most of all I ask for prayer.
However, if anyone is at all interested in making a donation to help me get this venture moving, I have a GoFundMe, as well. You can read just a little bit more more over there:
Do we truly love the Lord our God with all our hearts, souls, minds, and strengths? Maybe I can help with the mind part, at least! This is Daniel M. Klem, apparent poet, reluctant yet passionate Disciple (Peter?), and foolish man attempting to understand theology!
