VerseD: Habakkuk 3:17-18

Though the fig tree should not blossom, nor fruit be on the vines, the produce of the olive fail and the fields yield no food, the flock be cut off from the fold and there be no herd in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the Lord; I will take joy in the God of my salvation.

Our sovereign God is in control. We have nothing to fear, for we know He has a plan. We will one day have the joy of eternal peace in His presence.

When we follow along with the crowd or are too afraid to stand for what is true and right because of the culture, we risk offending our Creator even more.

The worst the world can do to us is kill us, and then we are with God, anyway.

Our God loves enough to come and die in our place of punishment and overcome death. What should we fear? How much should we now strive to serve Him faithfully?

No matter what a day may bring, God is in control and holding all things together. Including us. We can trust Him.

VerseD: 1 John 4:18

There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love.

We no longer need to fear God’s wrath after we come to Christ. Instead, we should fear for those who do not know Him and share the Gospel with them.

In Christ, Death has no more hold on us. Hold firm to His promises, and fear not what people may do to us, for we await eternal life with our Lord.

With all that can happen in this world, we can expect persecution and problems. But out hope and strength is in Christ, who defeated the grave and the devil.

We can overcome our fears by God’s Holy Spirit and the hope we have been given, especially to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with our world.

What can people do to you that is so bad? At worst, they kill. At best, they make us happy.
Only God can give us eternal life and peace through Christ.

Knowing our Creator and His wrath against sin leads us to understanding this world and our need for His forgiveness and salvation through Jesus Christ.
