There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love. 1 John 4:18, ESV
First, we fear the wrath of God against our sin. Then, we stand in awe of the God who showed His love by sending His Son to die for the forgiveness of our sin. Grow in the love that saved us!
Do we truly love the Lord our God with all our hearts, souls, minds, and strengths? Maybe I can help with the mind part, at least! This is Daniel M. Klem, apparent poet, reluctant yet passionate Disciple (Peter?), and foolish man attempting to understand theology!
Love your point about the transition from fear, awe and to love
