Man Caused Global Warming

What if this man is right?

I do not really mean one hundred percent right (and do you find it the least bit ironic I am using the word “right” with someone on the political left? I kind of did!), but what if his basic premise – the Earth is warming and humanity is largely responsible – is correct?

Two things spurred this question: 1) David Jeremiah‘s daily broadcasted sermons have been covering Matthew 24-25 and talking about the End Times, and 2) Mark over at 3-Fold-Cord asked if Billy Joel was right.

So, think about it: for those of us who hold to the teaching that Adam and Eve’s sin is what brought about pain, chaos, and death, this would make sense. Read Revelation 8:7:

The first angel sounded his trumpet, and there came hail and fire mixed with blood, and it was hurled down upon the earth. A third of the earth was burned up, a third of the trees were burned up, and all the green grass was burned up.

Revelation is all about God’s wrath for our sin. Therefore we can say we caused Global Warming … or Climate Change or whatever it is being called today. The Bible tells us things will get quite warm here.

I kept today’s post short and sweet. What do you think? Are we truly responsible for our planet warming? Does this mean there is literally nothing we can do to change the course?

  1. Well, I have to say that I think the background is pretty cool.

I think the online store idea is brilliant, considering there is no way to sell stuff like that with a normal WordPress blog.

Also, Al Gore is one of my least favorite people. If he said the world was freezing, I would have a hard time siding with him, even if he was right. I just don’t trust him.

But regards to the global warming issue, I see your point. Maybe I could use it to help make brownie points with liberals. I could say something like, “Yes, I believe man is causing the world to heat up – eventually it will burn, along with all you tree-hugging, unwashed, vegan earth worshipers.” On the other hand, that might sound too judgmental, you think? Unloving, maybe?

    But, seriously…..God bless

    • Yeah, it might not be the best way to approach them. If I had not been laughing, I would have felt offended! I hug trees all the time! It makes the youth group laugh! I do not want to burn because I hug trees to make people laugh!

I am also not a huge fan of Al Gore. Is it bad that I was going for the irony of mixing Al Gore and biblical discussion? I originally was going to have a picture of a forest fire or something (since we have been watching the forest fire out here in Arizona), but good, ole Al won out.

      Thanks for the comment(s)!

  2. How can you argue with the man that created the internet?

I personally think Global warming/climate change is a hoax to fleece the peoples and business monies via mandates like the Kyoto Protocol and cap-and-trade. Man has only been monitoring weather/climate for a couple hundred years- so there is noway they can say climate change is absolute. Who knows what the climate was like back in 1046 A.D.? Unfortunately $$$ is what is driving this whole monster!

I would like to say that this does not mean that we are not to be good stewards of what God has given us…but this goes without saying.

    Great post!

    • Money is definitely a driving factor for this whole fiasco. Al Gore has made a fortune through his appeals to combat our planet’s warming, and has done little to nothing to limit his own carbon footprint.

I know what the climate was like back in 1046. In Rome and Constantinople it was tense. In the Middle East through North Africa and into Spain it was violent.

Oops. We were talking about weather patterns and global temperatures. My bad.
