I know with Pastor Baker’s blog I said “‘Nuff said,” but this entry by Matt, which I found through our mutual friend Richard over at catholicboyrichard.com, covers so many aspects of the “Pro-life/Pro-choice” debate.
For reals, check it out!

Pastor Baker makes a great point with solid arguments. I reblog this so that I do not have to write it! As has been said in many places by many people, “‘Nuff said.”

Buchenwald

In April of 1945 the Nazi concentration camp at Buchenwald was liberated. Just outside the camp were German civilians who refused to believe the atrocities they were told of actually happened. Therefore, something had to be done.

On April 15 allied soldier brought the residents of the surrounding community inside the camp for a tour. It took actually seeing the corpses of dead Jews, stacked like wood, for them to believe what they had heard. The average response was, “We didn’t know.”

Buchenwald01As we look back on those horrendous days, we find it hard to believe that the citizens of Buchenwald could actually go about their daily lives and never know anything about what went on inside those death camps. Yet, 40 years ago today, a virtual death camp was erected into law, the results…

Post Pending … II …

Hello, all those dearly loved by our Lord!

I am in my final class of my college career (at least, for the time being), and it is proving more time-consuming than previously believed. Also, I do not want my post this week to be rushed.

Therefore, it will be coming soon, whether it be later today or later this week!

In the mean time, enjoy this post from Chris, yesterday:

The Monday Funnies – TV & the Media

Or this from Anthony, also yesterday:

2012 in review

Thank you to everyone who helped boost my statistics!

The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2012 annual report for this blog.

Here’s an excerpt:

600 people reached the top of Mt. Everest in 2012. This blog got about 2,200 views in 2012. If every person who reached the top of Mt. Everest viewed this blog, it would have taken 4 years to get that many views.

Good thoughts here from David. We are not alone, but we travel differently than others. We work and worship together, but we are in different places in our walk with God.

A few years ago I had a dream in which I undertook a long and difficult journey, eventually arriving at a place of rest. When I entered this place I found it to be a single room. There were about twenty people there already, only of two of whom I recognised. It appeared that they had been waiting for me. This place of rest or retreat was not a place where I was allowed to remain for long. I felt quite shocked that I was expected to leave and continue my journey so soon after arriving. I felt that I deserved a rest. Why shouldn’t I be allowed to stay in this place for a while? The people there seemed so content.

The moment any of us asked Jesus Christ into our lives it wasn’t the end of a journey, but the beginning. There are certain things we need to…

I am so thankful for rest, yet full rest is always just out of reach. I look forward to 12 weeks from now, on that Monday when I wake up and realize “I am a college graduate!” As for now, and as I continue to try and rest, I give you nothing. As in the post I wrote in April of 2011 called “The Gospel of Nothing”. Read and enjoy.

Nothing to offerWhat are we able to give God?

What is it that we can give God to get closer to God?

Creator of Everything

God is the Creator of everything. All things we are able to measure. Almost all things we are not able to measure.

God created light. God created atoms and molecules. God created mass. God created single-celled organisms. God created plants. God created animals. God created us. God created emotions and infact has emotions. God created and is goodness. God created and is truth. God created and is Life.

God did not create lies. God did not create hurts. God did not create pain. God did not create hate. God did not create evil. God did not create sin.

What we give God

This last line is what we can give God … at least at first.

This is the gospel: We have nothing to give God but our filth, our…

This is just as prevalent this year as last year. I am thankful for a break and a new puppy (named Seymour Seamus McFly Klem). Enjoy God’s word for this week.

Here is a good message for you for Thanksgiving:

Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is yourlife, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.

Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry. Because of these, the wrath of God is coming. You used to walk in these ways, in the life you once lived. But now you must rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips. 9 Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old…

Some other great thoughts from another Jason, this one a fellow Wisdom-writer at ProverbialThought.com!
This is a perfect pairing with the reblog from yesterday. We must be Christ-like in all circumstances. We me must pray for our leaders and admit that we are not in charge but follow the One Who is.

The election is over! All of the political ads have run and the votes are in. Last night a man was proclaimed President of the United States! Whether you liked the outcome or not. It’s over! Done! Finished!

So as a Christian, what do we do now?

Here are three things that I believe that Christians need to be doing:

1. We need to humbly pray!

II Chronicles 7:14 says, “If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”

We need to be praying for our President! Whether the person you voted for or not won, we must pray for our elected officials!

2. We need to turn back to God and away from our wicked ways!

America has turned…
