Question: What should the Church Congregation vote on?

Our little congregation has congregational voting included in our bylaws. If we make changes to those bylaws, bring on new elders or deacons and pastors, or need to make major decisions like about a new building/property, we need at least three-fifths vote in favor. To remove a leader only takes a simple majority. If at least half are not comfortable with thay leader, they cannot effectively lead. All other decisions are handled by the pastors and the Board made up of deacons and elders.

There is nuance and wiggle room on a lot of this, but we also know most people will not be that involved with much of the day-to-day to need to vote on most things.

In a previous article I wrote on the question “Is the Practice of Church Members’ Voting Biblical?” where I argued that it is biblical for the congregation of the church to have authority to vote on certain matters concerning the church.  But what are those areas that the congregation can vote on?
