We should always give thanks to God for the good in our lives, for His promises are true and He never changes. We can trust His faithfulness.
As a newer Christian, I wanted to read a book of the Bible to help show how good a Christian I was. The book of James looked good to me: not too short, not too long, and toward the end (story climax area, so it had to be good, right?) without being at the very end.
It was a tougher read for me than I expected! So convicting! So in-your-face with truth!
But I saw God’s goodness shining through. In fact, 4:7-8 were the first verses I committed to memory, but the first I quoted was 1:17 to say that God made me want to read this book first.
Do we truly love the Lord our God with all our hearts, souls, minds, and strengths? Maybe I can help with the mind part, at least! This is Daniel M. Klem, apparent poet, reluctant yet passionate Disciple (Peter?), and foolish man attempting to understand theology!
