Yesterday, one of my former youth kids (he’s now 24) got married, and his dad officiated the wedding. It was beautiful, and dad did a great job, preaching the gospel and sharing God’s love and humor. His 20-year-old brother could not be there, because he is in the Marine Corps and going through special training.
But their parents had to tell us that those boys are still Chrisitians today and talk about how much we spoke Christ’s light and life into them. Even the parents had to thank us for what we spoke into their own lives.
It was encouraging to hear, seeing as their home church dissolved last year, and everyone is still looking for a faithful church. But it convicted me hard, knowing we were used by God to make such an impact on this family.
Do we truly love the Lord our God with all our hearts, souls, minds, and strengths? Maybe I can help with the mind part, at least! This is Daniel M. Klem, apparent poet, reluctant yet passionate Disciple (Peter?), and foolish man attempting to understand theology!
