A few thoughts on legal marijuana

In case you weren’t aware, recreational marijuana use is now legal nationwide in Canada and, I fear, it will be in America soon.
I really don’t want to get into a debate about this but I did want to share a few thoughts.
1. Alchohol and marijuana are decidedly different in that people can have a drink, or even a few, and not get drunk where the sole purpose of smoking marijuana is to get high.
2. Alcohol is legal so marijuana should be legal too is a terrible argument. Sure, there is a debate that can be had about decriminalization but alcohol undeniably causes countless problems so simply legalizing something else that also causes countless problems is not a good idea.
3. Marijuana, despite what its proponents may say, is NOT safe. The science is clear and unambiguous – pot is adangerous substance. It is not like…
