I have heard of people who feel threatened and unsafe since the election (including some college students I know), but also since the election I have not heard of actual violence. There are reports of racist texts being sent out, and that is simply wrong, but I don’t know too much about it.
Let us pray that things and people stay calm and willing to be reasonable.

For this Sunday here’s what you can do: Praise God there’s no political violence days after 2024 US Presidential Election.
We hired a secretary this year, and it has been so helpful. We tell her frequently how grateful we are for her, but it is a good reminder to keep showing our gratitude!
Pray for church secretaries, too, because they face many obstacles and spiritual attacks, too!

This Sunday at Church I want to encourage you to do the following: Express gratitude for the Church Secretary.
Vote (if you are able), or don’t complain (because you did not take part in the process, and Philippians 2:14-16). Pray for our leaders to do well and even turn to Christ. Pray that the election can be reasonable.

As stated before, I have family and friends in the Helene corridor. Thankfully, they are all fine, though I hear many of those living outside of cities are still living without power.
I have several friends in Florida, too, and they are all okay, but they have also been talking about a lot of the destruction. Those with kids are not expecting schools to be open for at least most of this next week.

This Sunday at Church I just want to personally ask: Pray for People Recovering from Hurricane Helene and Milton.
I also have family in the North/South Carolina area, having heard of loss of power and cell signal for days (power still out for a lot of people), and gas stations out of gas. The town my brother-in-law was married in in Georgia had many trees uprooted/knocked over.
Thankfully, everyone I know is alright, but they can’t do a lot of cooking at home either due to power constraints or having had to empty their fridges, so they are utilizing the restaurants that have power to get food. Naturally, this is costing extra money.
Let us pray for a quick recovery, wisdom and peace for those affected, and communities to work together well.

I wrote a thing about some of my trip to Kenya, and I shared it with Domain for Truth while Jimmy is overseas.
Go read it there!

Note: This is a guest post since presently I am overseas. This is by Daniel M. Klem. His blog be found here. Mixed Bag of Christian Nationalism? (No, not the USA) I was invited to speak and preach in western Kenya in mid-August 2024. Many churches were involved, including many Kenya Assembly of God congregations. I […]
I might do my own response(s) to these someday, but these are some good thoughts.

Pictured is the “The Ten Non-Commandments.” It’s originally from a page on Facebook called Unite Women. My response led to a four part series. Here is the table of contents:
Do we truly love the Lord our God with all our hearts, souls, minds, and strengths? Maybe I can help with the mind part, at least! This is Daniel M. Klem, apparent poet, reluctant yet passionate Disciple (Peter?), and foolish man attempting to understand theology!
