This Sunday at Church: Pray for those affected by Hurricane Helene
I also have family in the North/South Carolina area, having heard of loss of power and cell signal for days (power still out for a lot of people), and gas stations out of gas. The town my brother-in-law was married in in Georgia had many trees uprooted/knocked over.
Thankfully, everyone I know is alright, but they can’t do a lot of cooking at home either due to power constraints or having had to empty their fridges, so they are utilizing the restaurants that have power to get food. Naturally, this is costing extra money.
Let us pray for a quick recovery, wisdom and peace for those affected, and communities to work together well.

I’m just so amazed at how much damage there has been when the actual hurricane was further south. I am also grateful to be here in Chattanooga. It’s hard to believe we were not affected like other places.
From what I’ve been hearing, it was laser shot past Tallahassee, FL, and up between (closer to) Asheville and Charlotte in NC. Basically, it wanted some of those mountains, I think Beech Mountain most of all.
My dad (just west of Charlotte) only got cell signal back at about 4 am from Thursday. My sister (Anderson, SC) got cell signal yesterday afternoon. They are almost out of gas in their areas.
Do we truly love the Lord our God with all our hearts, souls, minds, and strengths? Maybe I can help with the mind part, at least! This is Daniel M. Klem, apparent poet, reluctant yet passionate Disciple (Peter?), and foolish man attempting to understand theology!

They are in relatively good shape. Fully restored power and cell signal as of this week, and only minimal damage to their homes.
