Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world— the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride of life —is not from the Father but is from the world.
1 John 2:15-16, ESV
Wanting to be like or do the same things as those who are not in Christ is loving the world. God has called the Church out of this world to be like Christ.
Yes! The only way the lost of the world will find a Life Preserver is if it can be seen standing out amongst the waves of worldy sin. Let us be those Life Preservers standing out, separate from worldly ways.
Do we truly love the Lord our God with all our hearts, souls, minds, and strengths? Maybe I can help with the mind part, at least! This is Daniel M. Klem, apparent poet, reluctant yet passionate Disciple (Peter?), and foolish man attempting to understand theology!
May we stand out for Jesus, in hoiness
